Walk in nature

The area around the Hotel Relais Orsingher offers easy walks on flat roads, accessible in all seasons.

A large number are along the Cismon and Canali Torrents from which, in summer, a fresh breeze comes off the water. The walks are suitable also for mothers with prams and pushchairs, for elderly people who appreciate the frequent benches, stopping-off places and the parks. There are fountains of fresh mountain water along the routes, ideal for refreshing and for quenching the thirst.

There are numerous walks in the villages of the valley with guided visits to the historic centres to discover popular art, mountain architecture, the history of Primiero.

Our suggestions for your holidays:

  • Path “From the town to the Villa”: Guided visit, every Wednesday in July and August, from Tonadico (Palazzo Scopoli) to Villa Welsperg, the house of the Parco di Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino in Val Canali. Along the route, there are stops at the more representative sites: the Church of San Vittore, the Madonna of Light, Castelpietra.
  • Tonadico – “The art gallery village”: more than 20 popular frescoes painted between the XVI and XX centuries enrich the narrow streets of the old historic centre.
  • Tonadico – Palazzo Scopoli: built around the year 1000 as a store, it was the Palace of Justice from 1200 to 1400, when it became the property of the Scopoli, a rich family of lawyers who gave sumptuousness to the palace, embellishing it with frescoes, stucco and wood panelling. Restored at the beginning of the 21st century, it is now the seat of Tonadico Council. Open to the public from July to early September.
  • Siror - "Village of fountains” and “Paintings and sculpture”: two routes in the village of Siror to uncover interesting items of local culture. The first route illustrates the strength of the bond between the village and water, primary source of life, discovering the numerous fountains and water troughs present in various corners of the village. The second route leads to the discovery of the linked system of writing, paintings and symboIs that characterise the village. Particular attention is due to two modern works that bear the signature of important artists, like the roof of the under-passage painted by Max Gaudenzi and the big fresco of Riccardo Schweizer, entitled “The dreams of the Barcalonga".
  • On leaving the Hotel Relais Orsingher, dozens of easy walks await.  Among the many, we point out the panoramic road of Molarèn, the Meadows of Navoi, the "Troi delle Caore" (a scenic route along the paths of the wood between Ormanico e Transacqua) and the Prati della "Campagna" (between Siror and Tonadico, with the Chapel of San Giacomo, the last witness of Piubago, a village washed away in 1116 by the flooding of the Rio Làzer).
  • Parco Vallombrosa: just a few metres from the Hotel, big park for the enjoyment of children and the relaxation of adults. On offer, amongst the swings and slides, are rides on a horse-drawn Troika and delicious tastings of typical Primiero cheeses and salami.
